The instrumental pieces from this work represent a mid-point in the development of the Renaissance canzona and ricercar into the later Baroque Sonata da Chiesa. There are considerable notes on interpretation and performance.

5 parts : S, A/T, T, B and Hippo. - Meeting at school in Westminster, 1936, Flanders and Swann eventually formed a partnership with their own brand of inoffensive, gentle humour. This is one of the first songs they wrote together, and one of a range featuring different animals.
